Meet 伍浩賢 (Jonathan Ng)

In 台山話 (Taishanese), my 嫲嫲 (grandma) always reminded me of an expression I now lead with, " Where is your heart?" The photo above is of the 岐山水库 (Qishan Reservoir), where my ancestors and family received their water from when they resided in the countryside village of 冲蒌 (Chonglou, China) before immigrating to the U.S. 

I lead with this because my liberated heart and soul is with where my ancestors have been, are now, and where they will be. 

As a Queer, Chinese/Taishanese, first-generation college graduate of a multigenerational, working-class immigrant family growing up on unceded Lenapehoking (colonially known as New York City), I honor my ancestors (past, present, future, biological, the environment, the land) by guiding others to reconnect to their roots and lineages to promote greater healing in themselves, their relationships to/of others, their environment, and the systems that impact them.
